Butterflies and Falling Leaves
Buterflies and falling leaves
two things you don't normally see
flying around as one
easy to get confused now
with bright oranges gliding through the air..
It's warm,
in late October.
People are torn
&afraid of change.
But it's happening,
quicker than the climate.
And now there seems to be a mountain
in your way.
There is nothing else to say
except climb it
and change your ways
and change your perspective
of how you might see the earth & yourself.
as they are the same.
But the colors that fly,
whirling in the wind,
need to be remind-
it's okay to fly south,
&it's okay to let go,
& it's okay to questions the things you know.
So fly.

I wrote this when I literally was getting confused as to why I I couldn't tell if there were butterflies or leaves flying around- because I saw both, which I felt like never happened. Monarch butterflies are usually long gone by THE END OF OCTOBER! They are supposed to all migrate- but when the weather was still warm, they were also confused and just stayed. Every single year, the next generation of these creatures follow their intuition to where they should be- bringing them north in the summertime then migrating to the warm forests of Mexico when the cold hits (look up the Monarch forests in Mexico!) It's an ethereal time (hehehe) where these sweet beings rest to start the next generation and journey back up. For some reason this year, it was warm when it shouldn't have been. "Record highs" they said for a few days; making the butterflies stay put, when they base their entire lives on change. We as humans need to realize this; we need change. Change is good, change is for the better. And some of us need to realize that yes, the climate is changing and we should too change in order to change what is going on right now. Something is not right, and a lot of things seem out of whack. I am doing my best with what I have to change my lifestyle to make it more sustainable for this world, to do my part to save what we have left. I am a constant change- tomorrow, I will realize even more than I did today and continue on this growth. There is nothing stopping you from changing your mindset or how to act- but the only thing is just loving every step of the metamorphosis. Even the messy parts, like when you are basically soup transforming inside of the chrysalis, but once you remember a beautiful butterfly emerges, change might not seem so scary anymore. Change when necessary, adapt but don't give in, and let it all water you to help you grow.
